  • How do we savor the imperative of having all of the emotions and make empowered choices to move through them skillfully?

"RASA" is the nuanced nectarous flavor of the emotions. Rasa theory and practice is a complete fluid body of wisdom to guide you through the waters of emotional life. Not to guarantee the specifics of your flowing through, but a true and lifelong practice of swimming gracefully, gloriously, satisfyingly through human waters. As asana is to the body, rasa practice is to the mind + heart. Come! Learn how to do the YOGA of the EMOTIONS (Pronounced “RUH-SUH SAH-DUH-NUH”)

This 3-day course includes 2 learning strategies from a complete fluid body of wisdom:

THEORY Lecture and Understanding

  1. Receiving and reflecting on 9 elementary categories of human states, the 9 rasas

  2. Using the framework of a circle/sphere to orient your Self in the center of a schema

  3. Using the framework of the magic square for imaginative self-responsibility

    PRAGMATICS Practices and Direct Experience

    1. Centering awareness - refining meditations for generating calm

    2. Rasayana - up your skills in adding or taking away something to shift states

    3. Storytelling - learning how to express emotions optimally, from the yogic Self-led seat

    4. Keeping a rasa journal

    5. Savoring - becoming a rasika, a connoisseur of taste, flavor and emotional nectar

    6. Rasa lila - Accepting. Feeling. Moving Through.

    7. Earth magic - strings, knots, smudge, and more

    8. Rerritory, letting go + generosity - more everyday practices for the individual TBD by the group
