ABOUT OUR CLASSES

WSY offers 30+ weekly classes! With 3-5 classes per day to choose from, we strive to provide a well-rounded menu of methods to explore. Over the years we have evolved into a studio that offers a balance of strength-based and restorative classes. We aim to schedule at least one beginner-friendly and one stronger class option every day! We encourage students to try all classes in order to find the approach and teacher that they connect with. OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Our studio is a tolerant community focused on promoting compassionate self-awareness through a variety of yogic approaches. We provide a supportive, non-competitive, and accessible atmosphere for self-exploration. While many of our classes incorporate vinyasa, or “linking postures with breath”, we don’t ascribe to one brand or lineage of yoga and are always open minded to learn about varying philosophies and opinions. We teach yogic tools such as physical movement, breath, mindfulness and meditation, in order to facilitate health--and possibly overtime--a deeper spiritual connection as happens organically and is unique for each student.

CLASS GUIDE

BEGINNER FRIENDLY

BEGINNER LEVEL

This very beginner-level class integrates some flowing sequences; but also holds poses in order to deepen understanding of commonly taught yoga postures and their proper, safe alignment.

ALL LEVELS

A balanced blend of flowing movement and breath that refreshes, strengthens, and elongates the whole body. Vinyasa yoga based and challenging at times, this class also incorporates relaxing meditation and breath exercises. Each unique class is tailored to address the level and energy of students present.

GENTLE FLOW

This slower-paced, mindful yoga practice emphasizes therapeutic movements that are accessible for all levels. This gentle approach is a great way to deepen understanding of how a yoga practice can serve as meditation in movement via linking postures with breath.

YOGA NIDRA

A guided, hour-long meditation that serves to calm the nervous system, enhance deep and restful sleep, and reduce tensions held deeply in mind and body. The class includes guided visualization and relaxation techniques. No movement.

YIN/RESTORATIVE

Explore poses to stretch muscles, relax, and dissolve tension. A slow, deep practice where simple postures are held for 5-10 minutes in order to ease muscle stiffness and release ligaments, joints, and layers of fascia (tissue).

THERAPEUTIC FLOW

This easeful practice pairs breath-centered movement, customized supported postures and pockets of meditation to relieve stress, improve circulation and, over time, even facilitate healing.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

INTERMEDIATE 2-3

Expect a strong, challenging class with less verbal instruction to encourage a fluid, vigorous, flowing practice. This class features advanced postures such as inversions, deep backbends, and more.

CORE FOCUS FLOW

Strengthen your core and build a stronger body with this one-hour, core-focused class. Core strength is key to gaining stability and confidence both in practice and life off the mat.

SALUTE THE SUN

Rise and shine with an invigorating, early morning flow class. An all-levels-friendly posture sequence of dynamic poses linked with the breath will create a soothing meditation in movement.

CANDLELIGHT VINYSASA

Deepen your practice and discover your edge in a moving meditation with challenging sequences and crisp transitions. Soothing candlelight leaves you floating out the door.

ALIGNMENT

Learn about the physical body as you safely prepare for advanced postures and shift attention to specific anatomical focal points.

STRONG VINYASA

An invigorating and empowering class with challenging, fast-paced postures focused on strength + sweat! This hour-long practice features fun music and creative sequencing.
